NARO Newsletter Issue 3, July - September 2021
Welcome to this 3rd Edition of the NARO Bulletin (July-September 2021). As we enter the last quarter of the financial year, we continue to be plagued by the Coronavirus 19 pandemic that has greatly jeopardized our operations. Nonetheless, I urge you to remain steadfast, focused, and vigilant with all SOPs to ensure that we all remain safe and well. Let’s all search for the hidden opportunities within the pandemic and steer forward into the future.
NARO was honoured in this last quarter to host the President of the Republic of Guinea, His Excellency Professor Alpha Conde, at the National Livestock Resources Research Institute (NaLIRRI), Nakyesasa. This highlevel visit was a clear endorsement of the efforts we have put into the professionalization of our sector, and an indication of the possible impact we can bring, not only in Uganda but across the region. As we march forward, we continue to establish and strengthen strategic partnerships with the private sector and partners in development in Uganda to ensure that we can sustainably contribute to various aspects, including the quality and quantity of crop production, value addition, and commercialization, bio-prospecting, training of trainers, and the conservation of the environment, including the subterranean, terrestrial, aquatic, and atmospheric resources.
Director General NARO,
Dr. Ambrose Agona
