NARO Newsletter Issue 5, January - March 2022

Welcome to the 5th Edition of the NARO Bulletin (January-March 2022). A lot has happened during this time, and let me give you a few highlights of what happened during this period. His Excellency, the President of Uganda, launched the Parish Development Model (PDM) in Kibuku district. This model aims to help people increase their household incomes and join the money economy. It is an extension of the wholeof- government approach to development as envisaged under the National Development Plan3, with the parish as the lowest administrative and operational hub for delivering services closer to the people and hence fostering economic development. As NARO, we are positioned to contribute to the implementation of this model through our structures and work in agricultural research and development.
