Dr. Godfrey Sseruwu
Centre Manager, Kamenyamiggo Satellite Station
A Senior Research Officer and Centre Manager at the Kamenyamiggo Satellite Station, he holds a PhD in Plant Breeding from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (2013), an MSc in Crop Science (Plant Pathology) from Makerere University (2004), and a BSc in Agriculture (Hons, Upper Second) from Makerere University (2001).
His expertise spans plant breeding, pathology, agronomy, and integrating gender responsiveness in agricultural research.
His research focuses on developing and adapting nutrient-enhanced, climate-resilient crop varieties, with past work including breeding sweet potato for high yield and resistance to Alternaria leaf, petiole, and stem blight, and investigating fungal microflora causing maize ear rots associated with aflatoxins in Uganda.
