Dr. Robert Alex Isabirye
Senior Research Officer Animal Health Scientist
Dr. Robert Alex Isabirye is a Senior Research Officer and Animal Health Scientist with expertise in animal nutrition and health, the use of natural products in livestock production, and animal health economics.
He holds a PhD in Animal Health and Nutrition from Makerere University, where his thesis evaluated diatomite for improving chicken productivity; an MSc in Livestock Development Planning and Management from Makerere University, focused on the microbial safety of value-added dairy products in Kampala; an MSc in International Animal Health from the University of Edinburgh, examining Tephrosia vogelii for flea control in free-range poultry; and a Bachelor’s in Animal Production Technology and Management from Makerere University.
His research centers on poultry, piggery, and dairy cattle health and production, emphasizing the application of organic and natural products to enhance productivity and sustainability.
