NARO works to help Ugandans understand, appreciate, and use novel and innovative technologies to improve agriculture and boost food security, while ensuring better land use and a cleaner environment.

Why Work with NARO

NARO also seeks to strengthen linkages between research, extension services and end-users, including farmers and industry ultimately contributing to better livelihoods of Ugandan farmers.

Volunteer and Internship Programmes

The National Agriculture Research Organization has nine semi-autonomous Zonal Agricultural Research Institutes (ZARDIs), and 7 constituent institutes listed below.

These institutes receive volunteers who wish to build their knowledge in agriculture.

The institutes, which are spread over different districts, also receive interns from different institutions of education.

Most of the volunteers and interns make direct requests to the institutes.
