NARO has sixteen Public Agricultural Research Institutes under its supervision scattered across the different ago-ecological zones of the Country;Seven (7) of these are known as National Agricultural Research Institutes (NARIs) that conduct research of national strategic importance and nine(9) of these are Zonal Agricultural Research and Development Institutes (ZARDIs) conducting adaptive research in the nine agro-ecological zones of Uganda.Research covers Coffee, Crops, Fisheries, Forestry, Livestock among others.
